Message from the Chair of ICoTA Europe

Message from the Chair of ICoTA Europe

I am delighted and proud to be the Chair of ICoTA for 2019-20.

The preceding years have seen some hard work undertaken by former Chairs and Committee members to ensure the viability of ICoTA, notably through the creation of the Champions initiative which is now fully-subscribed.

This for me shows that ICoTA is being perceived as an increasingly major information forum and centre of collaboration for the Well Servicing, Intervention and integrity industry. For the remainder of 2019 and beyond, the focus for ICoTA is to increase and broaden its appeal to Wells professionals, from well site operators and supervisors, through to office-based practitioners and engineers.

The aim is to achieve this through various strategy themes, including adding some guidance on how to gain Chartership of Engineering Institutes, building on the increasingly popular Lunch and Learn events, annual ICoTA conference and Innovation Award, developing the recent highly successful Norway seminar, and through various social events including the iconic annual dinner. 2019 sees 25 years of ICoTA, and we are working on how to mark this milestone and celebrate it.

This year also marks the move of the Annual Conference in November to “The Event Complex Aberdeen” (TECA), which is very exciting - and on a practical level will enable easier logistics with its close proximity to transport links. For all the reasons described and more, ICoTA goes from strength to strength, and I believe it is an essential forum to be a part-of whether as an individual working offshore or onshore, a Service Provider company, or Operator.
