An operator's view – why I support ICoTA
Steve Bedford, BP

Well intervention skills and resources are required across the complete well life cycle, from design through operation, maintenance, repair, surveillance, performance improvement and ultimately permanent abandonment.

ICoTA has a proven track record as a forum for bringing together stakeholders from across the full spectrum of the well interventions community, including: manufacturers, service providers, operators, investors and academics to share knowledge and raise the profile of the value of well intervention.

The BP well intervention team has gained significant value from active participation in ICoTA. For example at the annual round table an engineer can view the tools and services from all key providers, discuss common challenges with peers and identify solutions, without the round table this would take considerably longer and indeed the connections might not be made. BP Engineers use the regular technical meetings to network and refresh their technical knowledge in what continues to be an exciting and rapidly developing area of the oil and gas business.

In my opinion ICoTA is the premier body solely dedicated to promoting and improving well interventions.
