ICoTA Europe Lunch and Learn - Production Logging

October 30th 2018

From 11:45 for 12:00, ends by 13:30

Venue: Aker Solutions, Dyce

The October Lunch and Learn will focus on Production Logging

Production logging is the most reliable reservoir monitoring technique to establish zonal contributions, water inflows and establish the dynamic well/reservoir behaviour. Over the past 50 years the sensor technology has evolved from simple mechanical sensors to complex array tools and nuclear measurements. Conveyance methods have adapted to get access to the high well deviations, introduced in the 80s. However, the interaction between the conveyance method and the flow affects the production dynamics. Are we sure that our PLT is measuring a representative flow profile?

This ICoTA Lunch & Learn will explore the reasons why careful pre-job conveyance planning (coiled tubing, tractor and wireline) is ultra-critical. This Operator Case History highlights that the choice of conveyance changed the Well inflow performance so dramatically, to the point where critical decisions to develop the field (or not) may have been wrongly influenced by the data if not correctly understood.

The Lunch and Learns provide a forum for sharing case histories, field experience and new technologies. Don’t miss this excellent networking opportunity.

ICoTA facilitates connections and shares knowledge across all well intervention disciplines.

Agenda is as follows:
