March 26th 2019

From 11:45 for 12:00, ends by 13:45

Venue: Aker Solutions, Aberdeen International Business Park, Dyce

The first issue of the UK well integrity guidelines was published in 2012. This Lunch and Learn presentation will describe why the UK wells guidelines were written, provide an overview of the current wells guidelines, describe the content of the UK well integrity guidelines and the changes in the latest update. The presentation will be equally useful for those who have no knowledge of the UK well integrity guidelines and those who are familiar with previous issues and want to see what has changed in the latest issue and understand why.

The lunch and learn will be presented by Steve Bedford.

Steve Bedford began his engineering career in 1982 working underground for the National Coal Board in the Nottinghamshire coalfield. After graduating from Nottingham University as a Mining Engineer Steve joined BP’s drilling engineering programme in 1986 and since then has worked for BP in onshore and offshore drilling, completion, workover, well intervention and petroleum engineering positions covering the full well life cycle. Steve is currently a Well Engineering Authority for BP. Steve is a member of the Council of the Mining Institute of Scotland and Past President. He is a member of the Board of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining Oil and Gas Division and former Division Chair. Steve is also a member of the British Standards technical committee for drilling and production. Steve has represented BP on the Oil and Gas UK Wells Forum and has been the co-lead for the UK well integrity workgroup since these groups were formed in 2010.
