Innovation Excellence Celebrated at Annual ICoTA Conference

Icota Innovation Award 2017 Winner


The winner of this year's ICoTA Innovation Award was announced yesterday at the 23rd SPE ICoTA Well Intervention Conference at the AECC. 

Following a record number of applications, a panel of independent judges had the difficult task of selecting this year’s winner from a shortlist of 3 different innovations, each looking at new technologies or existing technologies being used in an innovative way, how they are being applied, and the value that they are currently bringing to the industry.

In front of an audience of over 200 industry experts, Craig Feherty collected the award on behalf of Well-SENSE, for their FiberLine Intervention which significantly reduces the cost and risk of well surveillance.

Craig, CEO at Well-SENSE Technology, said: 

“We’re delighted to have been chosen as the winner for the 2017 ICoTA Innovation Award. FLI, our disposable, fibre optic technology, challenges the traditional wire-line and electric-line approach to logging wells and presents a completely new approach to well intervention for data profiling. We look forward to working with ICoTA, and its members, as we continue to develop FLI and identify new applications to reduce the cost base of intervention on a global level.”

Steve Moir, Chair of ICoTA European Chapter said:

“The judging panel has once again been extremely impressed by both the quantity and quality of applications for this year’s Innovation Award, and we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of this year’s finalists. However, Well-SENSE was a clear winner, and is an excellent example of the work that is currently being done to push the boundaries in well intervention and coiled tubing technology."
