2009
Baker Hughes for its SnapScreen™ Live Well Deployment System for Sand Screens.

This technology is the first live well deployment system which has a flow path through the connector, allowing the well to be produced immediately following the deployment of a sand screen completion. The main benefit it offers is the ease of use of the system, allowing the well to be put back on production far more quickly than would be the case if a full workover was undertaken.

StatoilHydro won the award in the face of extremely close competition for the 'Nurturing and application of Riserless Light Well Intervention Technology'.

2007
Baker Atlas's novel GasViewSM service (gas-saturation service). It provides a clear quantification of reservoir gas saturations through casing, regardless of water salinities. Baker Atlas introduced the technology to aid in the identification of bypassed gas in mature fields, allowing the operator to maximize gas production in existing wells.

Halliburton Easywell for its 'Swell Technology âï??ï?? Swellpacker™ Isolation System'.

The Swellpacker™ system is a zonal isolation device which can be used in either open or cased-hole environments to isolate oil, gas and water reservoirs as required. The uniqueness of this system is that it has no moving parts and does not require service personnel to operate. This greatly enhances Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSE&Q), delivers excellent reliability, reduces the risk profile, and on many occasions has reduced overall cost of the well.

Zertech - metal seal technology, known as the Z-seal.

Zertech's Z-Seal has achieved the goal of obtaining a seal by expanding metal. The complete removal of elastomers eradicates many traditional modes of failure, making the equipment an appealing solution for a multitude of applications.
