This collaborative event focuses on advancing safe, efficient, and sustainable intervention practices through shared expertise and regulatory insights.

Investment in the Norwegian continental shelf – 28th January 2027
Call for presentations – deadline 20th November 2026
The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority’s (Havtil) main conference theme, “Investment in the Norwegian continental shelf must come at a cost” highlights the importance of investing in robust solutions, technology, maintenance, competence, and staffing to maintain a high level of safety and ensure long-term value creation on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The conference will focus on how the well intervention industry can meet these expectations through innovation, collaboration, and the sharing of experience. We aim to showcase solutions and lessons learned that contribute to safe, efficient, and sustainable operations, with quality, well integrity, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance as fundamental guiding principles.
Submission Requirements for 20 minute presentation format followed by Q&A

The key Presentation Themes are below:
Efficient Solutions and Safe Operations – Cost-Conscious Decisions Without Compromising HSE
We are seeking presentations that share experiences and results related to, but not limited to, alliances and collaboration, simple and efficient operations,campaign-based interventions, optimized intervention strategies, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Contributions should demonstrate how these elements can support safer, more efficient, and cost-effective well interventions without compromising well integrity or quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) performance.
InnovativeSurface Solutions for Safer Well Intervention Operations
We are seeking presentations that showcase new and innovative surface solutions that contribute to safer rig-up activities, safer operations, and improved HSE performance. Relevant topics may include, but are not limited to, solutions forthe handling and installation of intervention equipment, removal and handling of X-mas Trees (XMTs), Light Well Intervention (LWI) operations, and other technologies and work practices that reduce risk and personnel exposure.
We encourage contributors to share experiences, case studies, and results that demonstrate how robust solutions can enhance safety, efficiency, and operational performance in well intervention activities.
Barrier Monitoring – Primary and Secondary Barriers
We invite presentations on technologies that enable barrier restoration and the monitoring of both primary and secondary well barriers, providing well intervention personnel with enhanced decision support. We are particularly interested in solutions that challenge established practices, improve operational safety, and strengthen well integrity throughout the well lifecycle
OperationalExperience and Technology Updates
We invite presentations on new operational experiences and technological solutions within well intervention. Relevant topics may include e.g, coiled tubing drilling, new logging technologies (e.g., logging through multiple casing strings), efficient log evaluation, e-slickline, and other innovative solutions that contribute to safer, more efficient, and cost-effective operations.
The scope is not limited to these examples, and we encourage the sharing of other relevant experiences, technologies, and concepts that can contribute to increased valuecreation, and improved HSE and operational performance.
