Tell us about yourself and how you got into the well intervention industry
Ekaterina is an Intervention Engineer at AkerBP, and a committee member of ICoTA YP Europe, where she plays a key role in developing the Norwegian Young Professionals chapter. Her journey with ICoTA began at the European Well Intervention Conference in 2023, where she first encountered the organisation and became a member. From there, she joined the European chapter in Scandinavia to help establish its YP section — and hasn't looked back since.
What does your role on the ICoTA Committee involve?
Ekaterina and her team focus on organising technical and networking events that bring the world of well intervention to the next generation of industry professionals. The emphasis is firmly on connection, learning, and the sharing of experience — all aimed at engaging curious minds who are new to the field.
Why did you get involved with ICoTA?
For Ekaterina, the motivation was straightforward: a genuine desire to expand her network within the industry and to gain hands-on experience in events organisation. And, as she puts it simply — she thinks it's fun.
What's your favourite thing about the ICoTA community?
"It is a relatively small and supportive group of people. In my two years on the committee, I met many dedicated people working towards common goals rather than pushing their own interests. This is very unique."
That sense of shared purpose and community spirit is clearly what keeps Ekaterina energised and committed to giving her personal time to the organisation.
Outside of work, what are you passionate about?
Music is a big part of Ekaterina's life. She's a regular at concerts and festivals, and has found a creative way to weave this passion into her committee work — introducing members to local music during ICoTA's social and networking events. It's a lovely reflection of her broader approach:bringing people together and creating memorable experiences.
