Max Soerensen’s appointment as Junior Chair of ICoTA Europe, marks a significant milestone in his career-long commitment to advancing the well intervention industry across Scandinavia.

The recent appointment coincided with a special recognition award presented by Steve Moir, Chair of ICoTA Global, which acknowledges Max’s transformative impact on the Scandinavia sub-chapter.

Steve emphasised the global significance of Max’s work,adding, " His efforts have not only increased membership and participation but have also elevated the region's profile within the global ICoTA community. The members eagerly anticipate Scandinavia's next innovative ideas that will continue to shape the future of ICoTA and inspire our community.”

The transformation of the Scandinavian sub-chapter serves as a model for other regional chapters, demonstrating how dedicated leadership and strategic vision can create lasting impact within the well intervention industry.

Collaborative Leadership Approach

Max’s appointment as Junior Chair positions him to work closely with Senior Chair Annabel Green, CEO of Well-SENSE. This leadership partnership is expected to drive continued innovation and collaboration across both European and Scandinavian markets.

Vision for Continued Growth

As Junior Chair, Max has outlined an ambitious vision for further expanding ICoTA's presence and influence across the Scandinavian region. His strategic priorities include several key initiatives designed to strengthen the sub-chapter's impact and reach.

  • Bergen Expansion – Extension of the sub-chapter's footprint into Bergen, recognising the city's importance as a major hub for the Norwegian energy sector and well intervention activities.

  • Regulatory Collaboration -Developing closer collaboration with Havtil, the Norwegian regulatory authority, fostering stronger relationships between industry professionals and regulatory bodies to advance best practices and standards.

  • Enhanced Technical Programming - develop and expandthe popular tech nights, providing more opportunities for knowledge sharing and technical discussion among industry professionals.

  • Strengthened Community Events - Plans include increasing attendance at the annual dinner, building on the event's role as a cornerstone for networking and community building within the Scandinavian well intervention sector.

  • Conference Growth - the well intervention conference is expected to continue its growth trajectory, attracting more participants and exhibitors from across the region and beyond.
