How did you get into the coiled tubing/well intervention industry?

I started my career as a Wireline Field Engineer with SLB,working across UK and Norwegian North Sea assets. It was a great way to learn the industry and spend hands on time with the tools! After that, I moved to bp,where I've been lucky enough to manage well intervention projects both in the North Sea and around the world. More recently, I've been working as an Integrity Engineer, which has given me a completely different perspective by getting much closer to the production side of the business. It's been a brilliant learning experience and has made me appreciate just how much goes into keeping offshore facilities running smoothly every day.

What does your role on the ICoTA Committee involve?

I've been involved with ICoTA for a few years now and have had the chance to support several sub committees, both as a member and as a Chair. I first joined the Young Professionals committee when it was newly formed, before moving into the role of Senior Chair for EWIC. That was a particularly rewarding experience and gave me the opportunity to connect with people from all corners of the well intervention community. More recently, I joined the DE&I committee after seeing first-hand how important it is to ensure event are welcoming, inclusive, and accessible for everyone. Great technical contentis important but making sure everyone feels able to participate is just as valuable.

Why did you get involved with ICoTA? What made you decide to give up personal time?

For me, ICoTA has always been a fantastic way to stay connected with what's happening across the industry. It's easy to get focused on your own projects and challenges, so having access to a wider network and the latest technical developments is incredibly valuable. On a personal level, I've found the relationships and connections I've built through ICoTA just as rewarding as the technical side. After returning from maternity leave in 2025,I attended the DE&I event at Aberdeen Art Gallery and was immediately reminded why I'd enjoyed being involved so much. The event brought together people from across the industry, sparked some great conversations, and reminded me how important these networks can be throughout your career.

What's your favourite thing about the ICoTA community?

While I enjoy all the events throughout the year, EWIC isprobably my favourite. It's so focused on the technology, tools and challenges we deal with every day that it's difficult not to leave having learned something useful. I also love hearing what other operators and service companies are doing. Sometimes it's reassurance that everyone has the same challenges, and other times it's discovering a solution that makes you wonder why you hadn't thought of it yourself!

Outside of work, what are you passionate about? Hobbies, interests, hidden talents

Outside of work, most of my free time is spent with my partner and our growing family. By the time this is published, we'll be getting ready to welcome our second child, so life is about to become even more interesting! I enjoy catching up with friends and travelling whenever I get the chance. Whether it's a weekend away or a bigger adventure further afield, I always like having the next trip planned.

We are always looking for young professionals to join our Committee. It's a great way to meet others, learn and advance your career. If you are interested in supporting ICoTA, get in touch - admin@icota-europe.com
